Best Buy for two of our
WeatherMaker Air Conditioning Systems. In the
May/June 1998 Home and Garden Buying Guide of Consumers
Digest magazine, central air conditioning
systems were compared based on size, efficiency,
and features per price point. The article
recommended that consumers consider such features
as:
- Electronic Controls
- zoning Capabilities
- Warranty
- Programmability
- Efficiency
- Sound Quality
- Use of environmentally-friendly refrigerants
Consumers Digest recommended the Carrier
WeatherMaker Two Speed 38TDA and the WeatherMaker
38TKB as two air conditioning system which combine
features of efficiency and sound quality with a
good warranty.
Here’s what Consumers Digest had to say about
Carrier WeatherMaker products:
"Like most modern products, today’s
central air conditioners offer sophisticated
electronic controls that help provide even more
efficient and comfortable cooling. The Carrier
Comfort Zone II features a four-zone
system that allows you to match the comfort
demands of your home to your family’s daily
schedule. Without zoning, the same approximate
amount of cooled air travels to every room,
regardless of whether it’s needed or not.
Another factor to consider these days is the
use of environmentally friendly refrigerants.
Carrier is the first manufacturer in the
industry to offer Puron – an environmentally
sound R-410A refrigerant that offers high
efficiency and long-term cost savings to
homeowners."
