Carrier
has been delivering custom made indoor weather for
almost one hundred years. Throughout this time,
our dedication to the specific comfort needs of
homeowners has enabled us to focus our research and
design efforts on discovering new technologies and
new products that make your life more comfortable.
That's why so many homeowners turn to Carrier for
their indoor weather solutions.
Using superior technology and innovative
product designs is nothing new to Carrier. The
Synergy 2000 delivers indoor weather that is
superior to standard heat pumps because of its
two-speed operation. Operating at low speed for a
majority of the time, the Synergy 2000 delivers a
nearly continuous stream of heating or cooling while
making less noise than a standard model.
Designed
with Carrier's exclusive Silencer System, the
Synergy 2000 delivers the comfort of quiet
operation. The uniquely designed top reduces the
air turbulence within the unit for ultra-quiet
performance. The compressor hood and vibration
isolator plate prevent compressor noise from
escaping into your living space. The efficient fan
is designed to deliver quiet, energy efficient
comfort to your home. All of these features combine
to make the Synergy 2000 one of the most quiet heat
pumps available, exceeding your comfort needs
throughout every season.
Carrier's two-speed technology provides
year-round comfort with the additional benefit of
outstanding energy efficiency. With two stages
of operation, the Synergy 2000 outperforms typical
heat pumps. On high speed, the Synergy 2000 quickly
delivers the temperature as indicated on your
thermostat. Then it drops back to low speed to
quietly and efficiently maintain your desired indoor
temperature. Operating at the lower speed up to 80%
of the time helps eliminate uncomfortable
temperature swings while delivering up to 8.8 HSPF
(Heating and Seasonal Performance Factor) and up to
16.1 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio). The
longer operational cycles also help control indoor
humidity during the summer months.
From
each internal component to Carrier's WeatherArmor
III™ protection system, the Synergy 2000 is built
to last. Designed to keep your heat pump safe
from corrosion and damage, the WeatherArmor III
protection system improves the overall durability of
the Synergy 2000. This three-part system includes a
cabinet made of heavy-gauge galvanized steel with
baked-on powder paint for superior protection. The
cabinet is assembled with ceramic-coated screws for
corrosion resistance and long-lasting durability.
And, finally, we protect the outdoor coil with an
enhanced wire guard that helps keep your heat pump
safe from hail, high winds, sporting equipment and
potentially-damaging lawn equipment. By protecting
the components in your heat pump from external
damage, the WeatherArmor III protection system
ensures that you and your family enjoy custom made
indoor weather for years to come.
The Synergy 2000 operates at
peak capacity only about 20% of the time.
Single-capacity heat pumps cycle on and off at
full capacity for inconsistent temperatures and
added energy use.

Exceptionally
quiet operation is achieved with Carrier's
Silencer System. Components of this system include:
- Silencer System top which allows air to
glide smoothly through the system.
- Highly efficient fan designed to
quietly move outdoor air.
- Deluxe compressor sound hood absorbs
compressor noise.
- Compressor vibration isolator plate
prevents vibrational noise from being
transferred to the base pan.
- The discharge muffler assures quiet
indoor comfort by minimizing refrigerant
pulsation through the refrigerant lines.
Enhanced comfort and reliability are ensured
by the two-speed compressor. This versatile
compressor operates on high speed to keep you
comfortable all year long during extreme outdoor
temperatures. With low speed operation, this unit
maintains your comfort with extra-quiet,
extra-economical performance.
Quality
is enhanced with the Carrier base pan. Designed
to properly drain water and debris from the unit,
the chance for corrosion is greatly reduced.
Reliable performance is provided by the
TimeGuard II™, which prevents unnecessary wear and
tear on the compressor due to rapid restarts after
shutdown.
System protection occurs as high and low
pressure switches monitor refrigerant pressure and
shut down the unit before permanent damage can occur
to the compressor.
Added reliability is provided as the
accumulator protects the compressor from damage if
liquid refrigerant flows back into the system.
Always look for these
symbols, the heat pump industry seals of certified
performance, efficiency and capacity.

standard model with a sound rating of 80dBa. Sound
levels vary by size.
It takes almost eight Carrier 38YDA models
operating at the same time to equal the sound
produced by one typical heat pump.
