pressure switches protect the smooth operating
scroll compressor from damage
associated with operating outside of normal
pressure ranges. Our corrosion resistant coil

drier, which removes moisture and debris that
could otherwise affect performance. Finally,

Carrier’s rugged and rust-proof base pan, made
from a high-tech composite material, provides an
extra-durable foundation. The base pan helps

deterioration of the heat pump and the surface it

level installation, the 50JZ sends discharge air
away through the top of the unit. A sloped drain
integrated into our base pan design eliminates
debris and standing water for improved indoor air

Carrier's 50JZ packaged heat pump uses
environmentally sound Puron® refrigerant to
deliver soothing comfort all year long. In
response to the global concern surrounding ozone
depletion caused by HCFCs,
the Clean Air Act of 1990 declared that
refrigerants containing HCFCs must be phased out
of use and replaced by another, safer refrigerant.
